I hope everyone is having a great start to the New Year! I am excited for 2019 and all that we have planned. But before I go into that, I would like to thank everyone again for making 2018 a huge success, not only with hosting Experience, but for your participation and commitment to helping our chapter grow.
In 2019, the board is dedicated to bringing you more educational meetings with information that is relevant to your careers. We are working hard to ensure that you see the value in your membership to NACE. If there is a topic that you would love to learn more about, please let one of the board members know and we will work on getting it added to the schedule.
At our board retreat, we selected the Narrow Door as our 2019 charity. We will be donating a portion of all of our annual raffle ticket sales to them, as well as doing a fundraising event and having a community service day at their facility. Stay tune for more to come on that.
Our new website has launched. We will be sending you a welcome email introducing you to the website. In the email, it guides you through how to create a username and password. You will need to create this in order to register for the monthly meetings at the member price. Also, please review your information on the website. If something is incorrect, please let us know as well as National. Everything on the website is populated from the National website. Please give us a month to work out all the glitches.
This year we will be adding a "featured member" in addition to our venue, at all of our meetings. This member will be selected at random and will be able to talk about themselves and their company at that month's meeting. We will also have you featured on the website for that month. We are hoping this will give more exposure to non-venue members.
NACE has a new logo! This will be available for you by the end of February. The logo is very similar, just a change in color and font. We will be sure to add it to the resources on the new website.
Trivia Question: What do the crescents in the logo represent? First one to respond will receive a prize at the next meeting.
Our objective is to making Palm Springs NACE a strong vibrant community for all of our members and to be the premier resource for all catering and event professionals!
I look forward to seeing you all at our February Meeting, "Create Your Client Happiness Experience" on Feb. 21st at the Doubletree Golf Resort.
Michelle Stansfield, CPCE
This year's charity is the Narrow Door. Their Mission is to identify and impact issues within the Coachella Valley by connecting people to God and a supporting community. We do this by providing free public assistance that calls for immediate action in the areas of hunger relief, homelessness, clothing, hygiene and discipleship programs.
Stay tune for community service projects and fundraising opportunities for this great cause!
